It has been said that perception is projection. What does this really mean? My interpretation is that what we see ‘out there’ is what we expect to see, or project. So, what does this mean in terms of our life?
It simply, (and amazingly, powerfully, joyfully), means that we can create whatever we want to in our life. We get to choose what we will experience! How cool is that? If we don’t like what we’re seeing, feeling, hearing, experiencing, we can change it! We get to choose our story.
So, as a starting point, what story(ies) are you seeing in your life? What do you feel on a regular basis? What do you hear people saying around and to you? What circumstances are you experiencing?
It is useful to take an account of where we are now (what we no longer want), so that we can create a clearer idea of where we want to go (what we want in our life).
The next step would be to clear out our old, limiting beliefs, decisions, negative emotions, habits, etc that no longer serve us. How do we do this? Well, there are so many ways. My way is through Network Care and NLP, Time Line Therapy, Hypnosis and Coaching. These are the main tools in my toolbox. I like to sprinkle in some humour and fun (I gotta be me after all) where appropriate, as well as some empathy and intuition.
As an example of one of the tools I like to use is asking questions: “What specifically do you want to create? Do you have a plan to create it? If you didn’t achieve that goal, what could you do differently to achieve it? Do you even still want it?” I also like to ask different questions; instead of asking ‘why is this happening to me?’ you could try ‘why is this happening for me?’
I truly believe (my story/hallucination) that the quality of the questions we ask ourselves, and the quality of the thoughts and emotions we attach to them, creates the ‘landscape’ or story in which we live.
What would your day be like if you started out your morning with the statement “I will greet this day with love in my heart,” instead of “[time to get out of bed]?”
How do you create your day?
